Residential Support Worker

Job Purpose:To provide high-quality, compassionate, and child-centered support to children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that promotes their emotional wellbeing, resilience, and development. You will encourage independence, assist with daily living tasks, and ensure the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of all individuals in our care.Key Responsibilities:Daily Care & Support: Help children and young people with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, shopping, and household tasks, in accordance with their individual care plans. Support children to develop daily living skills and achieve personal goals.Engagement: Support children and young people with education, hobbies, social activities, and accessing the community. Contribute to risk assessments, behaviour management plans, and care plan reviews.Relationship Building: Develop positive, trusting relationships with children and young people to encourage independence and confidence. Model positive behaviour and build trusting relationships using PACE principles (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).Record Keeping: Maintain accurate care plans, daily logs, and incident reports, ensuring all records are kept up-to-date in line with company policy.Safeguarding: Ensure the safety of children and young people at all times, adhering to all safeguarding and health and safety procedures.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure consistent care. Participate in supervision, training, and reflective practice sessions.Requirements:Experience: Experience working in a residential setting is desirable but not essential.Qualifications: A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) qualification is desirable; a willingness to work towards this is essential.Skills: Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (often required).Background: Must be able to pass an Enhanced DBS Check.Reports To: Deputy Manager / Senior Residential Support Worker

Senior Residential Support Worker

Job Purpose: To support the management team in leading staff practice, ensuring high standards of therapeutic care and safeguarding are maintained throughout the home. To take a leadership role on shift, ensuring the care and welfare of children and young people while providing guidance to support staff. As a Senior Worker, you will model best practices, supervise junior staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the management team in the daily running of the home.Key Responsibilities:Shift Leadership: Take responsibility for planning and leading shifts to ensure a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.Supervision & Mentoring: Supervise and mentor junior support workers in trauma-informed practice, including managing induction processes and conducting staff supervisions.Care Planning: Take a lead role in developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans, ensuring they are person-centered and followed.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate care plans, daily logs, and incident reports, ensuring all records are kept up-to-date in line with company policy.Medication Administration: Safely administer medication and audit records, following company training.Safeguarding & Risk Management: Lead on safeguarding matters, ensuring risk assessments are managed appropriately and escalating concerns to the Registered Manager.Compliance: Ensure the home adheres to all legal, regulatory, and company policies.Requirements:Experience: Minimum of 2+ years working in a residential care environment.Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead a team through challenging situations.Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.Background: Must be able to pass an Enhanced DBS Check.Why Work for Us?
